The French avant-rock band Parquet from Lyon are back with a new release. The latest EP, ‘Mud’ is available now on vinyl and all digital platforms via Carton Records. To accompany the release the band is sharing a video for ‘Brute’.

The band consist of Seb Brun (composition, drums and electronics), Nicolas Cueille (guitar), Guillaume Magne (guitar), Jean-François Riffaud (bass and synth bass), Simon Henocq (electronics), Clément Édouard (electronics), and Julien Desprez (guitar). It is their first release since 2018, and it foreshadows the release of a phenomenal full-length album in the Fall.

Composed of the tracks ‘Brute’ and ‘Mud,’ the EP writing went through a long and hectic process. However, everything appeared to fit with the core idea which was defined by the following manifesto: “take your time, don’t rush, learn to accept, let yourself be carried away by the desire to try and find a state.”

The EP is being released on vinyl and all digital platforms and it is accompanied by a stunning music video shot by director Maxime Séve. It features an empty urban space, the body of dancer Véronique Lemonnier and mud.

By focusing on length and repetitions while ignoring aesthetics, the dancer demonstrates unwavering drive, outperforming herself in her movements and displaying silent power and tenacity.
