This album presents the music composed by Gilles Poizat for Hélène Robert and Jeremy Perrin's film "Ici rond-point de l'Asie" (2025).

the film: It is a strange area of the Rhône delta, industrial and port, where thousands of trucks loaded with goods from all over the world circulate every day. The logistics chain imposes its rhythm and constrains the soil. We gravitate around the roundabout, naming the landscape, the containers, the plants, the remains. We dig into the ground and go back in time. A gyratory film, where stories and objects make up a still life, a ritual of anchoring with the living in an soilless society.

the music: It is a music of time slowed down at the very heart of the globalized circulation of goods ordered in one click. Behind the screens and capitalist logics, the cogs are alive, terraced and cracked. It is a music of life in the interstices. Gilles Poizat pays particular attention to sound textures and the spaces created. His music accompanies, intimately and ceremoniously, life in the interstices.

In this fifth album on Carton Records, the Lyon-based musician presents the music he composed for the film by Hélène Robert and Jeremy Perrin documenting an area of Port-Saint-Louis-du-Rhône, between the Camargue and an industrial port facility.
Having worked as an ecology researcher in the Camargue before devoting himself to music, the project particularly resonated with him. Thus, this album is fed by his ecological and sensitive connection to the Camargue environment, to the ravages of capitalism, to traditional musics, and to electronic textures.
