The twilight-esque Tout Bleu, much like the gypsy Melquíades, key figure in One Hundred Years of Solitude, return to the village to share their discoveries with a third album,You Are Tree.

It takes a certain nerve to offer music of joy. After all, that feeling, weighed with all the gravity of the globe, burns in the hands of whoever dares to seize it and give it back to the people. This is the charge Tout Bleu take upon themselves — end-of-the-tunnel music that gives them the air of seasoned spelunkers, with that knack for rushing headlong into the scenery until they realize that their very steps are making the ground shift beneath them.

Led by their captain Simone Aubert, master in melancholy, this album articulates a cry from the heart. The years on the road are starting to show, and the musicians—the crew—have accepted to carry their cross through the flames. The emotional impact that results prove them right. In their utopian mission to re-enchant the world, Tout Bleu take their time in urgency, to, one by one, soothe the souls that will cross their path.

some themes include the participation of other musicians and friends: maxime tisserand (Mooch | bass clarinet), naomi mabanda (Champidou | cello), fhunyue gao (Kind To Herself | buchla, theremin), nicholas stücklin (Alive In A Future, Loneliness | percussions), agathe max (Alive In A Future | violin).

the geneva chamber orchestra (ocg) joined us for two themes, opening and closing our b-side. nine musicians of the orchestra compose this ensemble: eliane williner (flute), gilles vanssons (oboe), cindy lin (clarinet), matthieu siegrist et maxime tomba (horn), gabriel quintero and ivo panetta (trumpets), francesco d’urso (trombone). The arrangements were made by ludovic thirvaudey and the conductor was marc leroy-calatayud.

Loneliness is inspired by moondog’s song All Is Loneliness. some songs were composed for various choreographers and film soundtracks.
