générique mardi | diane

Following the release of their debut album in 2024, Rebecca (on AB Records and Cœur sur toi), Générique Mardi release Diane in 2026, as a co-production with Carpaccio Cathédrale, Carton Records & La République des Granges.

Whilst Rebecca dealt with identity and the “I”, Diane asserts her desires, shifting towards the “you”.
Diane, on one hand, the goddess of hunting and war who refuses to submit to sex with men — and on the other, the mysterious interlocutor of Special Agent Cooper (Twin Peaks).
The latter has no body, no voice; she exists only through the detective’s projection of trust and complicity — perhaps even love — before going to sleep each night: a spectre onto whom he can project his desires.

Bonnie’s lyrics explore relationships and their contradictions: self-assertion, the traps of love and toxic relationships, anger as a driving force for empowerment, sisterhood, sexual desire (whether fulfilled or not), and an excess of partying and drugs.
The words are delivered with an almost psychomagical intent: “just say what you mean” as a door to the use of witchtongue, capable of having a tangible impact on our perception of the world and how we relate  to others.

The tracks are built around Juliette’s basslines. They are joined by cold and post-punk melodies, new wave synths and cold disco colours, with occasional hints of dreampop. The duo crafts music in which anger flows, contained within the basslines, repetitive rhythms and synths, as an invitation for collective emancipation.

Following an initial collaboration with Inès Rousset for Rebecca, the cover of Diane is illustrated by the imaginative and sensitive linework of Marion Jdanoff.
