Utility Fog teeters on the cusp between acoustic and electronic, organic and digital. Constantly changing and rearranging, this aural cloud of nanotech consumes genres and spits them out in new forms.

Peter Hollo curates each episode around a narrative of genre-plasticity, deep-diving into artist histories, side projects and influences. Challenging sounds are contextualised within musical movements, surprising connections are uncovered, unfairly overlooked works are revisited.

25. Société Etrange, Coquet (Carton Records/Bongo Joe)

Tour de chauffe des post-rockers sans voix de Société Etrange avant la sortie le 27 mars de leur nouvel album Heat. Post, avant, pas rock, il y a toujours ce charme étrange du vague dans cette mixture instrumentale qui fait la part belle à une sorte de non-résolution : les gens de Lyon nous laisse de l’espace pour nous projeter dans leurs boucles, à nous de savoir si on danse dans une boîte de nuit un peu cheloue tricarde à la SACEM, assis devant un film muet gonflé par un funk sous anxyolitique ou vers à la main de vin blanc pétillant au vernissage d’un FRAC un peu déglingo qui programmerait ce trio de jazz non-jazz. A toi de choise ! (RS)
